This recipe was a hit! I made a few modifications to make it what i thought would be more friendly for my boys.
The original recipe:
What I did:
1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup ketchup
dash Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper
4 hamburger buns
10 slices bacon
4 slices American cheese
I mixed the first 4 ingredients together and cooked them in patties on the grill. I figured the boys would like having an actual hamburger they could dress as they are used to, versus a more "sloppy joe" style burger. I then topped them with a slice and a half of bacon (3 half strips) and a piece of American cheese. The boys both added what they usually do to hamburger (ketchup, honey mustard, mayo). The hubs and I both had it without adding any other fixings.
I think I was right! This was a big hit. It is definitely repeatable, different from our normal hamburger night and very tasty!

How could it lose with bacon in it?! Yum. (BTW, I will have the onions and mushrooms, too!)
ReplyDeleteBacon is always a winner at our house too! The boys were upset that I wanted to save some from breakfast the night before to use in this recipe.
